Here we go for a month of vacation. 4 weeks of traveling throughout Thailand, in the north by car (more than 3000km covered!) then the south by plane on the way there and by bus on the way back, originally planned by plane too but we had to change the program because of incompatible schedules.
Day 1 in Bangkok – Canals and Wat Arun
For this first day, in Bangkok of course, it's a little tour in the canals that awaits us, not knowing at the base where to go we take the BTS station Saphan Taksin, several tours are offered from the platform under the bridge. But it is finally on the platform of the BTS that I will see a counter offering tours and approved by the Tourism Authority of Thailand so it avoids bad surprises, in the price it includes an English-speaking guide, he will not be very talkative so not really essential, but anyway since it is included.
Bangkok will probably be largely made up of large condominiums like this one in the near future when you see how they are springing up everywhere.
Day 2 in Bangkok – Chinatown and the Flower Market
In particular, so that my parents could recover from their trip, we decided to stay an extra day in Bangkok with the essential Chinese and Indian districts on the programme, as well as the flower market to conclude.
A few hundred meters further we are in the Indian quarter but as we have been hanging around we will not see more than this street because we want to reach the flower market before nightfall.
We arrive just after, right at the Memorial Bridge, near which the famous flower market begins. Objective accomplished since it is not yet dark.
On the Sanam Luang square (in front of the Grand Palace) there is a kind of temporary "temple", this is part of the funeral protocol for a member of the royal family (in this case I believe it was the queen's sister). For my part, this is the second time that I have seen such a display of ephemeral beauty since there was the death of the sister, this time of the king, a few months after my arrival in Thailand.
