Family visit: end of stay in Bangkok – 26th and last day – Trip April 2012

And there we have it, the loop is closed, for this last day in Bangkok (and in Thailand in general concerning my parents) we were going to take a trip to the famous Chatuchak market, open only on weekends (and partly on Fridays, which was our case today) it is a maze of small shops many of which sell similar things but in the end given the profusion of corridors you can really find everything, it is a place as popular with tourists as with Thais themselves. Many come to stock up "in bulk" for their business right here.

Hard day...

After this "exhausting" day (it seems like nothing, between the walking, the skating, the waiting, the heat...) we had booked in a restaurant on the banks of the river (right next to the Krung Thon bridge) Very cozy atmosphere, a little in the dark, they come to light the menu for you with a small light but the place is very pleasant, not excessively expensive either and very good.

Your blog is good. I stumbled upon it by chance and I really like it. Chatuchak is a great place, but you shouldn't be agoraphobic 🙂

Thanks Reeon, Chatuchak is definitely quite cramped, but the worst thing for me is the heat some days especially the so-called "hot" period.

Good evening Romain,
I "stumbled" upon your blog and learned a lot, especially about Thailand, where we are going in March for the 4th time. I spent the whole afternoon on information that I am interested in doing during our next trip.
Where exactly do you live in Thailand?
Thank you very much
Sylvia

Hi,

I live in Bangkok itself, and have done so for 8 years since I haven't moved (if we ignore the period when I was in the "suburbs").
