Thailand Family Visit: Songkran Parade – Trip April 2012 Travel to Thailand 0 (0)Back on the roads, we went to where we had come across preparations for the Thai New Year, sensing that something was going to happen. Which would be the case since we saw a long parade of people in costumes with floats.A very young driver.Close-up of a rice field.Seen from a distance it looks quite full. We arrive as they are finishing the preparations, it doesn't take long for it to begin. 3 on a motorbike, a great classic in Thailand.Mixing colors.Just as we were walking to land somewhere we see them come out of the field and start the parade, it's time to move forward. That's done, here we are, me and my mother right at the front. All this is done in a good mood and accompanied by music, sometimes live like here, sometimes broadcast with loudspeakers on floats. The image of the king is (as always) very present. Alcohol circulates among the participants, some will come and make us drink, of course we are among the only farangs here... Knowing that here whisky is king, too bad it's not my favorite alcohol... That's some sound! The advantage of being in front is being able to stand in the middle and take these photos quietly while the speakers wait nicely (also the advantage of being a foreigner) Another photo just for me. Made in Thailand. This one suffered the first pangs of Songkran. The number of costumes is quite impressive, especially since the parade, which had already lasted for half an hour at that point, was still not over (we were only halfway through!) Looking great. We don't really know how, but it works! Many of the young people were looking a little glum... The older ones were all smiles and partying (with the help of alcohol...) The face of the little girl on the right is clear, it must piss her off to be there... Endless scrolling… One of the few foreigners (only at the end) It seems like the last ones had more time to drink, they were more exhausted... Wow, I feel for you… We will regularly be shown respect with a “wai” Afterwards it was a parade of cars… Soon after the sun made its bed.Back at Sukhothai Park, tomorrow will be a very “busy” day! Party time! Did you like the article? Vote on the article Note globale 0 / 5. Number of votes: 0 No votes yet. Be the first to rate this article! Did you like the article?
