Family visit: Last stop in Hua Hin

So here comes the last stage of this trip across Thailand with my parents, Hua Hin, a seaside resort quite well-known to Bangkokians but less sulphurous and more peaceful than Pattaya.

We came by car but Hua Hin railway station is worth a visit. The reason is that it is one of the oldest railway stations in Thailand. Built in the 20s when Hua Hin was becoming a popular destination thanks to the railway connection, just as King Rama VI had just built a summer palace there, the station was specially designed for the royal family with a dedicated pavilion as a waiting room for the king and his court.

Although the pavilion is no longer in use, the line and the station itself are still in operation.

Inside there was an exhibition of photos of members of the royal family.

The water is not really nice or deep which doesn't really make it a place for swimming.

On the other hand, leisure activities such as jet skis are still there.

Buildings are springing up everywhere. Hua Hin has already changed a lot since the first time I came.

Change of scenery, direction Wat Huay Mongkol a few dozen kilometers from Hua Hin, the temple is especially known for its imposing statue of the monk Luang Pu Thuat (who owes his fame to his miracles)

For the end of the day we were going to take a tour of the floating markets. You should know that these markets are recent in addition to being totally artificial, not to mention that they built 2 of them only 300m from each other...
