French speaking guide and tailor-made trip to Thailand

Looking French-speaking guide for your stay in Thailand? More specifically, you would like to have a voyage accompagnateur managing transport and all practical matters? Are you keen to visit Bangkok, Chiang Mai and the north of the country in a different way? That's great! With my presence in the land of smiles for over 10 years, I share my passion for discovery and travel in Thailand by helping curious visitors discover this fascinating country.

For several years now, I have been offering a personalized support, true tailor-made trips to Thailand.

A visit made in "Thailand and Asia" (or TEA for short 😉), is the possibility of seeing Thailand in a different way. A real alternative to agency trips. Because often with these formulas, you have to follow a pace and an imposed schedule: no room for improvisation or wandering.

By using my services, you are guaranteed greater independence, avoiding "boat" visits, at your own pace, while having information on local life, history, religion.

What do I prefer? A subtle mix between the classics or some unmissable places of the country of course, but especially by including other lesser-known but equally interesting facets, whether in the capital or other regions throughout the country!

Want to admire a unique view, meet the locals and share a moment with them? It's possible!

Here are all the explanations of this 100% TEA EXCLUSIVITY

Summary: TEA guided tours to discover Bangkok and Thailand in a different way!

Why are guided tours TEA exclusives?

Above all, I like to propose something new, specific to my knowledge of the city of Bangkok and the country. I try to find places that are little visited, new, but have an appeal and character, even if only from a "local life" point of view and reflect the facets of Bangkok or the region visited.

Not to mention that with the mobility that the car allows me and my tireless curiosity, I am always looking for interesting spots, even if only from a photographic point of view since that is also my passion, and I enjoy sharing these spots with you afterwards!

What is the aim of these guided tours?

The goal of these tours is really for you to enjoy discovering Bangkok from another angle, preferably off the beaten track, with someone who can explain and accompany you to the heart of the city, avoiding scams and wasting time, allowing you to best appreciate the places.

It is an alternative to organized tours, generally too “formatted”, “timed”.

The tours are suitable for both people who are visiting Bangkok and Thailand for the first time, and those who are returning for the second time or more and want to visit Bangkok or Thailand in a different way, in more "depth".

I would be happy to help you discover, or rediscover, the city and the country.

What types of guided tours are offered?

I also offer you walks, bike rides, tuk-tuk rides, car rides, longtail boats (the famous long-tail boats) on the canals (the klongs). In fact, you are free to compose according to your desires. You probably know the trend of “tailor-made trips”, what I propose is intended to be an improved formula. Because if I have pre-established circuits or itineraries, it is above all really YOU, the masters on board!

Do not hesitate to share your suggestions, and depending on your budget, we will establish together a visit to the city or a route through the country that best meets your expectations and according to the agreed duration.

Example of a visit to Bangkok:

  • Walking tour of old Chinatown: You have probably heard of Yaowarat, the main street of Bangkok's bustling Chinatown. I will take you to see a completely different atmosphere, walking through small streets, with their character, its small hidden Chinese temples, before reaching bustling Yaowarat, the day can end after a visit to the Indian quarter and the flower market.

What are the prices for guided tours?

To date, I only do private tours. As such, the higher rate takes into account the private nature of the tour and the service provided, compared to a classic group tour.

Prices vary greatly depending on the type and places visited. To give you an idea of prices, here is a list of gross prices, i.e. including guide fees + transportation (including transfer to and from your hotel) but excluding entrance fees etc:

– €50 / adult (from 2 people, reduced rate depending on the number)
– +9€ / child from 6 to 12 years old
– free for children under 6.

To give more concrete examples in terms of prices for a visit to Bangkok:

  • A bike ride in Bang Kachao will come to €120 for 2, but will come to only €28 per person if you are a group of 6 (the maximum I accept for this specific tour, see all info here )
  • A day trip to Bangkok, including a visit to Wat Saket, Jim Thompson's home and a stroll through Chinatown, costs €62 per person for a couple. If there are 4 of you, the price drops to just €37 per person.

To simplify, I always include entrance fees to the sites to be visited (if applicable) and any additional costs related to the chosen activities when I make a quote.

For long stays, unless explicitly requested, I include overnight stays, with a range of small boutique hotels and guesthouses in the 2 or 3 star range.

Typically, a stay in the north of Thailand, including entrance fees to sites, national parks, hotels and general costs of the service, will amount to a average of €100 per day per person, based on a couple's visit, because again, this price will be reduced if there are more of you. For a family or group of 4 people, the price is more like €120 per day per person.

I would like to point out that these are obviously indicative rates, based on the average and trend of stays made. These may vary depending on the activities you would like to include and the type of hotel requested, for example.

Also note that the prices may change because I adapt them according to the exchange rate between the euro and the baht.

How will the visits take place?

Usually I come and pick you up directly to your hotel, but I can, if it is not absolutely necessary, give a meeting point for a discovery on foot for example.

My motto is to show you around without pressure. No strict schedules to follow (except in exceptional cases), no buses to catch, it's as if you were accompanied by a friend, everything must be done in a good mood! Don't hesitate to ask to take a break, take pictures, and even change plans along the way if it doesn't harm the experience and the cost pre-established together.

How long do they last?

      • Typically, for a full day, tours start at 9am and end around 18pm.
      • For the “half-day” type tours, it ends around 14 p.m.

Afterwards, you have the final say, do you want to rest in the morning or, on the contrary, leave earlier to see more things? I adapt and it depends on your choices, your availability and your "endurance" (the heat can be exhausting)!

How many people will you be in a group?

My car being limited to 4 seats, this is to date the limit that I have set for myself... It is also good for you, this restriction of the number allows to avoid the "herd" effect, so that the visits are truly personalized, and more friendly.

An exception can be made if, as mentioned above, it is a visit leaving from a meeting point and being done on foot. Another possible exception, if you insist on using my services, for example you are a large family or are leaving with several friends, a larger vehicle can be rented (the rental of which will be added to the final price).

How does the reservation work?

Whether for short or long stays, you can contact me via the contact page, or via the form below so that we can define together what you are looking for and set up a personalized program on the destinations of your choice or according to my recommendations.

Once a clear program has been established and a quote accepted, you can confirm your reservation by paying a deposit, the balance of which will be paid shortly before your departure.

How can I pay?

Payment is made by bank transfer. For long stays I ask for a 30% deposit and the rest can be paid one week before departure ideally.

What happens if you book a guided tour on your own?

This is not a problem as such if you are alone. However, as these are private tours, all costs will be your sole responsibility as there is no possibility of joining a group.

If you contact me well in advance, I can keep you informed if another person or couple would like to do a similar visit on the same day, in which case, if both parties agree, the costs will then be proportional to the number of participants, but this has never happened so it is unlikely to happen.

What are the dates of the guided tours in French?

You can book all year round! Note that the months from November to February, as well as July and August are part of the high season. It is best to book for these periods at least 3, 4 months before your stay to be sure of having availability.

What happens if the weather is unpredictable?

Except in exceptional cases (such as a major storm forecast), I have not no reason to cancel in case of rain ! Note that the weather in Bangkok and Thailand is unpredictable (even more so with climate change) and thunderstorms can occur at any time, mainly during the rainy season, from July to October.

But rain is usually a very localized phenomenon, which can flood one place in a matter of minutes while leaving the rest of the city, just a few kilometers away, completely dry.

From my experience, visiting during this season remains all the more possible as it has its advantages, nature being well watered, it is lush and the rice fields are planted, which enhances the landscapes, without a shadow of a doubt (I talk about it in the article detailing the weather month by month). Also, knowing that heavy rains rarely last more than an hour and are usually in the late afternoon (except in September), this leaves a good part of the day to fully enjoy.

If this happens, we will be able to take a break to shelter during the deluge. In case of light and continuous rain, I can provide ponchos or umbrellas according to your preference to cover you if you have not planned for it.

Don't worry, in any case, the rain can provide a refreshing break from the tropical heat 😉

Can children take the guided tours?

Yes of course ! I have hosted families before, children are accepted without any worries. If the visit is mainly about the city, make sure that they do not mind walking a lot, so as not to harm your own visits and experience.

Afterwards, I know how to adapt in case of fatigue and take appropriate breaks or even shorten the day if necessary, this is obviously not a problem.
