A relaxing day in Ubud

For the reasons mentioned during the presentation of our hotel in Ubud, I specify that we had chosen it according to our budget and the places available, many were full if not more expensive, those indicated in the guide were all full... we therefore decided to change hotels, with the scooter from the day before that we had rented from this hotel... No matter, we therefore set off to wander around the surrounding streets to find a nice spot.

Looking for a hotel

It will take us the whole morning to find it but we won't really regret it, good price after negotiation, a semi-hot shower (refer to the introduction, by semi-hot I don't mean lukewarm, but roughly every other time it worked...) instead of cold and above all a pleasant setting.

Large room in pure Bali style, in a garden, for those interested there was even a private kitchen with fridge at the back, a large table in front on the terrace.

The only flaw will come in the evening, a group of tourists who came to play the cool baba to chat with Indonesians and alcohol chatted with impunity at 4am! I had to get up to signal our presence, and even that didn't really silence them, they just reduced the volume by a few decibels, I hate this basic lack of respect under the guise of "it's okay, it's the holidays!"

Coming back to the day, we just stayed the whole afternoon to rest after the "trying" day of the day before. In the evening we will try a French restaurant with success, warm welcome, restaurant / library / video library, original, and food, by Jove, excellent, we will go back the next day.

Ubud is a very special place… where I spent almost five months in two years 🙂 The gastronomy, the language, the landscapes, I couldn't get tired of it.

I know that many tourists feel that the city is now denatured by the massive influx of visitors, but for my part I have only lived with Indonesians and discovering the city and the island in this way was one of the best experiences ever.

Good luck to you,
