It was this Sunday, for this year again we stayed in Bangkok. We went not too far from home and did the minimum required, bought the Krathong, deposited 2 bahts (1 each) and hop into the water! Being exhausted that evening we did not linger.
Today's anecdote is a meal at McDonald's... couldn't find anything better in the area, with a scene that was unusual in my eyes, namely a nun who comes to eat with another woman and a little girl. Nuns in Thailand aren't exactly common, but coming to eat at McDonald's while feeding the little girl a burger...
Note that the little girl in question (who must have been 7 or 8 years old) said her little prayer before her meal as was proper... "Thank you, little Jesus, for bringing me this greasy hamburger on my plate!"
No comment ...
We bought our Krathong while they just finished it for us.
Expect to pay between 20 and 50 baht (ours was 30 baht, at 50 baht it's starting to be
Krathongs a little more elaborate.)

Despite my efforts the candle went out before being put in the water, no problem according to Jitima, it was especially necessary for it to be in the water before the incense was finished.
Kids will push your Krathong away from the edge in exchange for a few bahts, push it away because the further a Krathong goes the better it is and the yearnée
next should be good, is the belief.
But it piles up quickly…
Knowing that many of them contain plastic, the city has them collected one after the other that evening, even though everyone is throwing their Krathong into the water...
