After a meal at a restaurant on our beach, Jitima and I would hop on our rental scooter to “get some fresh air”.
Very grey weather at the start of the afternoon. The restaurant in question has a small terrace upstairs.A good club sandwich for me.Many families had young babies, often 4/5 months old. Here the lady is “training”.Shellfish fishing. The road literally runs along the sea, quite pleasant instead of concrete avenues like in Phuket or Samui. There are also lots of coconut trees, I am happy to see that Ko Phangan is relatively well preserved.Proof that it still rains quite a bit.View of Haad Son Bay.View of Haad Yao Bay.Of course, you can't really see it in the photo, but the slope is steep.Back on our beach we walk to the end.To avoid any somersaults on the coconut tree, it has been completely studded...The local bungalows are well hidden under the trees but for swimming you have to walk further...The poor dog was walking a little crab-like...That didn't stop the guy from being happy!Return to the same restaurant to sit and admire the landscape.Ready for the sunset show.Zen attitude.Jitima makes sketches. The restaurant in question, further to the left of our hotel (which is located more or less in the middle of the beach)Another “golden” sunset.Still in full sketch mode. The dogs are out.Even here near our beach, the shops sell the famous “bucket”, a small bucket containing alcohol and something to cut it (soda and redbull) to the delight of party-goers, although in this case we are neither near the party places nor even during the full moon...
When I discovered Thailand in 2006, I certainly didn't expect to settle down there 2 years later! Since then, I've been based in Bangkok and regularly travel throughout the country (especially in the north!). I share my stories, photos, and tips to help plan your trip to Thailand and other Asian countries. This blog is for anyone who wants to discover the land of smiles, who's looking for a bit of adventure, and those who dream of Asia.
First steps in Calcutta, a city teeming with history, culture, and contrasts. An immersion in the former capital of the British Raj, and the beginning of your journey to India.
Sam Roi Yot is one of my favorite places in Thailand. This beautiful national park, especially known for its royal pavilion cave, is a delight to explore.
