This is a day where I would have difficulty defining where we went. First, we returned to the Pua area before retracing our steps, this time to go towards the west of the region starting from Tha Wang Pa. This is where we had seen a sign indicating a national park, namely the Nunthaburi National Park. However, this morning was a bad start… The day before, I had forgotten the ceiling light, not for very long, because the owner of the GH pointed it out to me before going to bed, but apparently long enough for the car to no longer start.
Fortunately, since we were in the hotel car park, I was able to ask the owner for help, who kindly helped us out, as he had the cables. While he assured us that by driving it would be enough to find the battery for the day, I was suspicious of this assertion. My plan was therefore to change the battery by stopping at a gas station to fill up, because it seemed to me that some stations also acted as a kind of garage. When I stopped to fill up, as I suspected, I couldn't leave...
Unfortunately the gas station in question was not a garage at all... Afterwards, we were obviously not in town, but not alone either (given that in Thailand there are always gas station attendants). It was finally a customer of the station filling up who came to our aid (although the owner of the hotel had offered to call him in case of problems). The latter found us a garage (just opposite in fact) and a few minutes later, some young people arrived on a scooter with a brand new battery, in a few turns of the screw and a few minutes later, and we were ready to leave.
The landscapes of Nan are a mixture of plains with rice fields and small mountains in the background. Despite the summer season, it remains quite green this year, so rather pleasant.
