This day should take us to one of the national parks in the surroundings of Nan. For this day, it was the Doi Phu Kha national park in the north of Nan, more precisely to the east of Pua on the road to Bo Kluea.

But before that a little visit to Nan was necessary. The main temples to see were all under renovation (and not just in Nan, there must have been a renovation campaign launched throughout the country because we will not have a single temple not under construction!)

The room. Quite rustic.

Wat Phumin, which had already undergone a major renovation in the 1870s, will give a new lease of life to this temple, which is over 400 years old, considered the most beautiful in the city of Nan due to its typical architecture and its wall paintings inside.

The temple has a mini museum (free, as is the visit to the temple itself)

The streets are very quiet… Welcome to Nan!

Just opposite is Wat Phra That Chang Kham Vora Viharn, named after its chedi, this one is much older than Wat Phumin since it was built in 1406 (compared to 1596 for the previous one). Built in the Sukhothai style, this chedi is very reminiscent of Wat Chang Lom located in Sukhothai. In addition to the Chedi, this temple is composed of a viharn as well as a second building which, contrary to appearances, is not a second viharn (prayer room) but the largest ho trai in Thailand (library for Buddhist monks) although today there are no more books inside, but the difference is obvious because the building inside is relatively narrow and very high.

The monks are having a class. At first intimidated I ask a monk standing near the door (a "supervisor") if I can go in and take some pictures, the answer being a yes with a smile it gave this:

    Cool pictures
We will be going to Nan in August with our adopted daughter born in Thailand.
Could you give us the name of the guest house?
Have you visited parks or met tribes?
Thanks in advance for any information you can give me.
