The afternoon after the festival we left this time for a temple, better known for its White Buddha perched on top of a hill, accessible by stairs, it is lined with bells, 500 in number I believe, that the most motivated ring while going up and down (250 on each side) as a sign of luck. Located about twenty kilometers from Surin, it also offers a view of the surrounding plain.
Finally we went to the silk village, so called because it has workshops (one of which is mainly used for demonstrations) used to make clothing, scarves and other items in silk. They explain the process for coloring and use old manual wooden machines to do the hand weaving...
Taking advantage of the setting sun and this rural atmosphere we walked a little around the “silk village” towards the real local village, the pure and hard Thai countryside, the real one.
