Picked up around 8am, we will pick you up directly from your hotel (indicated at the time of booking). Time to go around the hotels of the other customers plus others who arrived directly from the station and we left for the park around Mae Taeng, an hour north of Chiang Mai.[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="400"]DSC_0054.JPG The first thing you see when you arrive is the food reserve, here there is enough to feed the elephants for two days.[/caption][caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="2"]DSC_0060.jpg Overview of part of the park.[/caption]DSC_0064.JPG[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="400"]DSC_0065.JPG The day begins after a briefing on an elephant feeding session.[/caption]DSC_0066.JPG DSC_0067.JPG DSC_0068.JPG DSC_0071.JPG DSC_0075.JPG DSC_0076.JPG[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="400"]DSC_0078.JPG Snack.[/caption]DSC_0080.JPG DSC_0083.JPG DSC_0087.JPG DSC_0088.JPG DSC_0092.JPG DSC_0093.JPG[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="400"]DSC_0095.JPG The park also serves as a shelter for dogs.[/caption][caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="400"]DSC_0101.JPG After the elephants it will be our turn to eat.[/caption]DSC_0103.JPG DSC_0104.JPG DSC_0105.JPG[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="400"]DSC_0106.JPG This one is in bad shape...[/caption][caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="400"]DSC_0107.JPG At the table![/caption][caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="400"]DSC_0108.JPG Lots of choice, that's a well-stocked plate.[/caption][caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="400"]DSC_0110.JPG Now it's bath time.[/caption][caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="400"]DSC_0112.JPG There's one who seems to be happy about it.[/caption]DSC_0114.JPG DSC_0115.JPG DSC_0119.JPG DSC_0121.JPG DSC_0122.JPG[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="400"]DSC_0125.JPG The park is clearly popular as there were a lot of people there (it's a shame, I would have preferred it to be a bit more "intimate" but so much the better for the park which obviously needs funds to maintain all these people)[/caption][caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="400"]DSC_0128.JPG It's a bit like the "Songkran" of elephants.[/caption]DSC_0129.JPG DSC_0132.JPG DSC_0133.JPG DSC_0134.JPG[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="400"]DSC_0135.JPG Hmm... bon appétit, we had indeed been told that dogs like fresh elephant poop (only).[/caption]DSC_0141.JPG[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="400"]DSC_0142.JPG After a while it's not just the elephants who get sprayed.[/caption]DSC_0145.JPG DSC_0150.JPG[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="400"]DSC_0161.JPG Myself in action.[/caption][caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="400"]DSC_0165.JPG A latecomer.[/caption]DSC_0169.JPG DSC_0173.JPG DSC_0174.JPG DSC_0176.JPG DSC_0182.JPG DSC_0186.JPG[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="400"]DSC_0192.JPG That's some posing![/caption][caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="400"]DSC_0194.JPG These people will go into exile for a little while.[/caption][caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="400"]DSC_0195.JPG Calm has returned.[/caption][caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="400"]DSC_0196.JPG We return to the observation post.[/caption]DSC_0198.JPG[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="400"]DSC_0201.JPG Construction of “scrapers”.[/caption]DSC_0202.JPG[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="400"]DSC_0204.JPG Solo bath.[/caption]DSC_0208.JPG
